Volunteering

Our volunteers are valued members of the team and make a lot of our work possible. We are always keen to welcome new volunteers who want to get involved. Most volunteer activities depend on the season however they can include hedgelaying, tree planting, pond clearance, species surveying and monitoring, grassland maintenance and surveys. However, volunteering does not just have to be about getting your hands dirty, we would also love help with photography, education visits, writing a nature blog, Welsh translation… the list is endless!

Volunteers meet on a regular basis and are provided with a schedule of activities so you know what to expect. We regularly hold events and training that volunteers are encouraged to attend and to help us with.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills. We also actively encourage our volunteers to take part in training courses that we put on. We may also be able to offer opportunities to carry out projects for university or college involving a study or surveys on one of our reserves, and you are welcome to contact us with any ideas you may have.

All experience levels welcome, whether you’re available for the whole day or a few hours, your help is greatly appreciated.

The volunteering activities coming up are listed on the calendar of events section on the website. As well as volunteers interested in practical conservtion tasks, as a small team we would also welcome those with an interest in other aspects of our work, especially: fundraising, helping with school visits, becoming a trustee and those wishing to conduct surveys on our sites for their own studies/projects.
